Water Filter Lab provides general educational information about household water filtration, water-quality concepts, maintenance, and product claims. The content is not medical, engineering, plumbing, regulatory, or legal advice.

Water safety

Appearance, taste, odor, TDS, or a home screening test cannot by themselves prove that water is safe to drink. If contamination is suspected, follow guidance from the relevant public-health or water authority and use an accredited laboratory where appropriate. For an urgent exposure or health concern, contact a qualified professional or emergency service.

Installation and maintenance

Plumbing systems and local codes vary. Follow the instructions for the exact product and consult a licensed professional when installation, pressure, drainage, sanitation, electrical work, or code compliance is uncertain. Shut off and depressurize equipment before servicing it.

Certification and performance claims

A reference to NSF/ANSI or another standard does not mean every product in a category is certified. Verify the exact brand, model, standard, and reduction claim in the certifier’s current database. Unless a page clearly says otherwise and explains the method, Water Filter Lab does not claim to have conducted laboratory testing or hands-on product testing.
